Merry Christmas!
I got a little potted tree but soon realized it just wasn't gonna do it. So this weekend Pooja and I went and got a real one. Turned out the one we liked was over 7 feet tall. Best decision ever.

Cheryl left us for a month to go to warm California. We already miss her LOTS!

Me at "the tree" in the freezing cold.

Our tree can rival that of the Rockefeller tree! Don't you think??

Ohhh, ahhh. We keep admiring it everyday!
My visitors!
I had some visitors over Thanksgiving weekend! Pete, Barbara, Sylvie and Annabeth came to visit me. It was a great time. The visit was short but we did managed to see How the Grinch Stole Christmas on Broadway despite the strike and braved the bitter cold to play tourists. I only wish they could have stayed longer. Here are some pictures from the visit!

Don't worry thats not Pete's hat...but that is mine

Leaves in Central Park

Happy Thanksgiving!
I decided not to travel home for the holidays. Instead my roommate and I opted for our own feast. I took on the task of cooking a turkey. My first one! As you can see from the pictures, it turned out well. It was 11.8 pounds and so delicious. We had one other friend over and it was a great day. Pete, Barb and the girls are coming to visit tomorrow. I am very excited to see them and can't wait to play tourist.

I tried to capture the sunset as I was riding the subway into the city.

The leader pack of the NYC Marathon down 4th Ave in Brooklyn!

And then the rest of the people...

FDNY supporting the runners. There were lots of runners who stopped to take their picture.

Tourista back in action

The last month has been wonderful. It is so nice to have all the tests behind me. The interviews have started. I had my first one yesterday. It wasn't as stressful as I had imagined. It went well and now I have three more this next week. I should be a professional interviewee at the end of this in February. Cheryl and I did a all day tour of Central Park a couple weekends ago. It was a beautiful warm day especially for October. The leaves had just started to change. Yesterday PK and I went out to the Halloween parade in the city. It was insanely crowded but worth it. If I am still in this area next year or in the future I am definitely joining in the parade. That seems to be the better way to see things. Enjoy the pictures!

GOOD NEWS!!!
I found out on Thursday that I passed usmle step 2 ck!! I am so happy! All I have left now is to get my cs results back and then I will be set. Fourth year is going well so far. The ENT rotation ended up being more fun than I had imagined and now I am in my second week of peds pulmonary. It is nice to be doing something more inline with what I want to do in the long run. The application process for residency is coming along nicely. I have already gotten 15 interviews. It is a little overwhelming but exciting at the same time. This weekend Sam came to visit from Baltimore where he is doing his psych rotation. We had a great time playing tourist. We went to the Natural History Museum and then afterwards walked all around the upper west side, midtown and union square. The weather drastically changed a couple days ago, so I had to scramble to find something to wear. All my winter/fall stuff is at the farm. Hopefully I will get them soon or the weather will warm up a bit. The leaves are just starting to change here. It is feeling like fall but oh how it reminds me how much I do not like the cold! Tonight there was a nice surprise out our back windows. A huge fireworks show. Perhaps in honor of my passing (unlikely but I can wish)! I found out Pete, Barb and the girls are coming up to NYC for Thanksgiving weekend. It will be nice to see them. Perhaps I will have some more visitors up too?? Any takers?? I have more free time now and would love to see you all.
